Country NGO / ONG Projects Promotion Campaign: no-fee project-banner placement on eRepublic.org

eRepublic.org is launching an advertisement campaign to assist local, country NGOs / ONGs in promoting their in-country projects on the Internet / WWW:

For the foreseeable future a local, country-specific development project may have their project's promotional banner listed for NO advertisement fee on that country's eRepublic.org Web page. For an example, see the eGov page for Jordan and the Web banner listed there for the JITOA project.

To keep the activity fairly simple, we only put forth the following considerations:

- NGO / ONG country project no-fee Web banner ads may normally only be in size up to 260 in width and to 100 in height pixels and no larger than 30kb.  The example provided on eRepublic's Web page for Jordan , the JITOA project banner, is 260w x 82h pixels and 11.596 bytes or 12kb, rounded up.

- The number of no-fee project ads will be limited to 1 or 2 per country Web page, depending on the number and relevance of the development-project ad placements requested for a given country.

- The banner should be of reasonable quality.

- A Web address / URL (Web site or page address) for the project or for a donor organization supporting some or all of the project's activities needs to be provided and functioning.

- The country-office development / aid projects of an international NGO or development organization may be considered, but local, country-based NGOs / ONGs will be given first preference.

- Higher preference may be given to development projects involved or related to eGovernment, eDemocracy, Digital Divide, Micro Enterprise and International Awareness issues...as well as to projects receiving some funding or other collaborative resources and efforts from known, recognized donors (such as local governments, ACDI/CIDA, USAID, ADB, Gates Foundation, JBIC, SOROS...to name a few), which may make it a bit easier to acknowledge the project as one active in a country's development activities and meriting the no-fee ad space.

In summary, if presently available, provide a gif or jpg digital banner (some logos may be project descriptive enough) within the dimensions and kb size given, and the web address with which to link it, and we should be able to place it fairly quickly on the appropriate country page.

Otherwise:

If you will be creating a banner, please know that visitors to eRepublic.org come from around the world, with many visitors to and from countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle-East.  Visitors are coming from international organizations concerned with aid, development and business, from educational institutions of various levels (primary to university),  from governments (national and local) and from, apparently, just the general public concerned perhaps with tourism, government services or just curious about other places in the world...based on many of the search terms used on Google, MSN, etc. to arrive at eRepublic.org.

If you do not have a banner presently nor the personnel on your staff with the facility to create one, please know that eRepublic.org will create in-house or through a local service, where eRepublic.org is based, a simple* banner for your project  for a cost (covering some staff time, etc.) of $ 20 US or its equivalent.

If your project does not presently have a Web site or page...or you would like a Web page for your project that includes the eRepublic.org internet address, please know that we can create a simple* (to be fairly static: without a lot or any future changes) Web page for your project on eRepublic.org so as to list on the Internet a summary of your project's activities / goals, contact information and perhaps a photo or two. In this instance, there would be a cost of $35 US for an in-house setup, for time and effort, but no further charge would be requested for keeping the Web page posted on eRepublic.org for the life of the project, assuming that the active duration of the particular project would not likely exceed three years**.

* For clarity, as defined for banners, a simple one would be a banner that presents the project's logo, if digitally (photo, in gif or jpg format, on computer) provided, and/or the project's full name in English and a country-language, if a translation is provided.
As defined for an informational Web page on eRepublic.org for the project, a simple Web page may include the project's logo, again if digitally provided, one or two digital photos concerning the project, the project's contact information and a summary of the project in English and, if a translation is provided, in a country-language.

** The no-fee placement and presentation, or continued presentation, of project banners or informational Web pages on eRepublic.org shall rest, to avoid complications, at the sole discretion of eRepublic.org.

Arrangements for your project's placement can be made via project@eRepublic.org
